LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Mikkel Højlund found marked differences in antipsychotic prescriptions between centers in young outpatients with schizophrenia, suggesting that there is a component of personal style, routine, or habit among the psychiatrists in the prescription of antipsychotics. Hjøllund et al. propose continuous and mandatory postgraduate training in psychopharmacology for psychiatrists as a solution to this potential problem. The letter will be published in Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology. Read more here.

BOOK REVIEW

Mikkel Højlund reviewed the book ‘The life-threatening effects of antipsychotic drugs’ and found that the book is highly relevant to the clinically working psychiatrist, his/her assistants, medical students, and others with interest in the interphase between psychiatric illnesses, somatic diseases, their treatment, and the always present balance between effect and side-effects of treatments. Read the full review in the Nordic Journal of Psychiatry. Read more here.
